A Dream Weekend: My 3-Day Itinerary for Caiazzo & Caserta

Many people come to Caiazzo for an evening, but this corner of Campania deserves so much more. It’s a region rich in history, authentic flavors, and unexpected beauty. As your host and a lover of this land, I have designed the perfect 3-day itinerary for you, based in our loft, to turn a legendary dinner into an unforgettable vacation.
Day 1: Village Immersion and Pizza Magic
Afternoon: Arrival & Relaxation
Arrive at your leisure, drop off your luggage, and park the car—you won’t need it again until tomorrow. Take some time to settle into your art loft, sip a coffee, and step out onto the balcony to breathe in the village atmosphere. Your vacation starts now, unhurriedly.
Late Afternoon: Exploring Caiazzo
Stroll aimlessly through the stone alleys of the historic center. Discover the Castle, the Cathedral, and the small artisan shops. Every corner is a postcard. This is the perfect time for an aperitivo at one of the local wine bars, tasting a glass of Pallagrello wine.
Evening: The Pepe in Grani Experience
Dinner time. With a two-minute walk, you’ll reach the world’s most famous pizzeria. Savor every moment, taste, experiment. The greatest luxury? Knowing that your art-filled bed is just a few steps away, without the stress of driving back.
Day 2: Royal Splendor and Ancient Flavors
Morning: The Royal Palace of Caserta
After a quiet breakfast, take a short 20-minute drive to the majestic Royal Palace of Caserta. Dedicate at least 3-4 hours to this masterpiece. Visit the royal apartments and then lose yourself in its immense gardens, strolling to the Great Waterfall. It’s a breathtaking experience.
Lunch: A Typical Trattoria
On your way back from Caserta, stop at one of the local trattorias (I’ll be happy to give you my personal recommendations!) for a lunch based on the authentic flavors of Caserta’s rural cuisine.
Afternoon: Wine Tasting at a Local Winery
The afternoon is dedicated to wine. Visit one of the local wineries that produce Pallagrello and Casavecchia. Book a tasting to discover the history of these ancient Bourbon grape varieties. An experience that delights the palate and enriches the spirit.
Day 3: Art, Nature, and Departure
Morning: Casertavecchia or WWF Oasis
You have two options for your last morning. If you love medieval villages, drive to Casertavecchia, a perfectly preserved village with a magical atmosphere. If you prefer nature, the WWF Oasis of San Silvestro, right behind the Royal Palace, is perfect for a relaxing walk in the green.
Late Morning: Final Farewell to Caiazzo
Return to Caiazzo for one last coffee, buy some local products as souvenirs, and prepare for your departure, with your heart and mind full of beauty, art, and flavors.
